RECOVERY COUNSELING SERVICES
& INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM (IOP)

Recovery Counseling Services is a CARF accredited and Department of Public Health licensed clinic providing outpatient substance abuse treatment services for men and women ages 18 or older. Depending on client need, clients can participate at either of two levels of care: low intensity supportive counseling, or a more intensive program involving treatment several days a week. Services include the treatment of co-occurring psychiatric disorders, which are often experienced among individuals working on recovery from substance use disorders.  A number of specialized services are also available for individuals having needs involving anger management, marijuana abuse, and/or problematic gambling issues.

Treatment includes individual, group, and family counseling and are modeled on evidence-based practices. Each client’s recovery plan is based on a comprehensive, integrated assessment of the individual’s medical, psychiatric, interpersonal, and legal issues and needs.

Integrated services include:

• On-site psychiatric evaluation and treatment services
• Case management and as needed, linkages to detoxification or various types of inpatient or residential services
• Educational programming comprised of lectures, videos, and speakers with a specific focus on integrated care for substance abuse and mental health issues
• Crisis Intervention
• Counseling for family members
• Counseling for problem gambling, which may include individual therapy and related financial counseling
• HIV information and referral services for testing and counseling
• Alcohol and drug screening by urinalysis
• Transition to continuing care through comprehensive discharge planning
