POSITION TITLE: Peer Recovery Specialist

DEPARTMENT: New Hope

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

Full time position available Monday – Friday 8:00AM-4:00PM. Provide recovery support through self directed, strength based approach to care utilizing principles based on the Recovery Coach Ten Components of Recovery.  Promote recovery by assisting in linkage to recovery support such as CCAR, AA and NA.  Educate individuals and families by providing information on recovery supports within the community.  Conduct outreach in the community to find clients in need of services.  Transport clients to and from appointments. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Certification from the CCAR Recovery Coach Academy as a Recovery Coach preferred with
 3 to 5 years lived experience in stable recovery.  AA/NA knowledgeable.  Ability to identify the needs that cannot be met by the counselor. Valid CT driver’s license required. Bi-lingual a plus.

Keep records and provide reports. Review management of cases, assignments, case problems, issues and methods of treatment. Experience in supervising gambling services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:  Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services with a minimum of two years supervisory experience in the substance abuse/mental health field with co-occurring experience.  Experience and expertise in Disordered Gambling Treatment.  Excellent communication and documentation skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Masters degree in behavioral health field, with  3-5 years experience working within the substance abuse/mental health field.  Licensure preferred. Valid CT drivers license required. Must demonstrate knowledge of co-occurring disorders and able to provide integrated treatment.  Ability to provide individual and group counseling; must be proficient with documentation and able to work as part of the clinical team.
